Distracted Driving Awareness Saves Lives:



As we all pretty well know, distracted driving is something that happens more and more. Especially when we have cars that Bradenton Mazda Dealer offers as well as Indiana Chevrolet Dealers. With more and more high-tech and fancy gadgets surfacing in the cars being created today, it isn't hard to understand at all why there has been such a problem with driver's concentration levels. However, to oppose these driver distractions, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is working harder and harder to get funding for their programs that they believe will save lives and raise awareness on just how fragile ours really is.

The U.S. Transportation announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is beginning their very own piloted program starting in Hartford, Connecticut and Syracuse, New York only to most likely expand from coast-to-coast. This program alone will reduce the amount of drivers talking on a hand-held cellphone or worse, texting and driving. These driver's exhibiting these actions and causing driver awareness to be limited will be pulled over by law enforcement and reprimanded with an easily avoidable ticket.

The message that the U.S. Transportation continues to portray is this, "Phone in One Hand. Ticket in the Other." Not only will this program be supported by law enforcement officials and the U.S. Transportation, but it will also be made known by many advertisement agencies that are on the look-out to make driver's more aware, and more safe. The goal of this program and these advertisements is to hopefully decrease the 6,000 people in 2008 killed and more that a half million people injured by distracted driving, and that wasn't even ALL of the reported cases. Now don't kid yourself with any false impressions or illusions, with this program not only could you hurt yourself or others by using your cellphone in inappropriate times--you may also hurt your wallet!

Click-it Or Ticket Campaign Tells American Drivers to Beware:



With Americans getting more and more aware of safety in vehicles as a problem, they are urging automakers and citizens to become safety-aware so that just like many, they don't turn into one of the many that are killed every year by traffic accidents. While some urge automaker's that cars are the issue of safety, others stand fairly correct that when a car comes off of a Indiana Chevrolet Dealer, or North Carolina Chevy Dealer lot, it is built to save the lives of the people within the vehicle. This is where the "Click-it or Ticket" campaign has come in. This campaign has made driver's aware that not only do they face the possible meeting with death if they do not wear their seatbelt, but also a run-in with the police and a ticket or fine to pay for the negligence with their safety.

With this campaign now in full swing it has surely proven its worth. Seatbelt use is at a record high 84 percent nationwide, something that seems like quite an accomplishment for a government-launched program that are not usually said to always be so successful. While 45 million Americans won't buckle up, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) foundation plans to change this. The foundation has openly expressed their warning to the public again that--even more so now--they plan to start cracking down harder then ever before to make sure that our citizens today do not turn into any of the deceased citizens tomorrow due to traffic accidents. They plan on showing these warnings both through ads on television, radio, and on online.
